Eleven special needs high school students from the Y.A.L.E School spent their morning at Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living helping the senior residents on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. The kids brought their exotic therapy pets including chinchillas and rabbits as well as their therapy dog, a golden retriever. In addition to pet therapy, the kids tackled a variety of needs for the community, both in the memory care unit called Spring Cottage and in the Assisted Living community. They worked with the Executive Chef tending to the gardens, worked with the residents and the Recreation Team organizing the lost and found items which, if unclaimed, were then donated, as well as worked with the Director of Environmental Services to determine large furniture items the community owns that could be donated to Habitat for Humanity. As their morning winded down, the students had lunch with the senior residents before they went home.
