Over 20 furloughed Government workers and their families enjoyed supper and entertainment as the guests of Spring Hills Mt. Vernon Assisted Living served in part by seniors on Thursday, January 24, 2019. It was a gesture of giving back and sharing their appreciation of government employees who may be experiencing hardships during the shutdown. Saxophonist Keith Kool-K Wilson entertained the diners. Dinner was three courses including loaded potato skins and meatballs for hors d’oeuvres, beef lasagna, coconut shrimp, baked ziti, salad choices and more for the entrée course, and decadent desserts. Of course, there was a full kid’s menu.
