Seniors residing in any of the Spring Hills Assisted Living Communities have an increased opportunity to stay connected to the world and especially with family and friends utilizing Spring Hills’ latest family engagement technology called SMILE™. This year, National Assisted Living Week (NALW) recognized all that technology can do to enhance the care and overall experience in assisted living communities with the theme Keep Connected. Celebrated from Sunday, September 11 – Saturday, September 17, 2016, Spring Hills Assisted Livings designed a week filled with activities that focus on technology, showcasing to residents how technology can help them Keep Connected.
When Spring Hills learned of the theme for this year’s NALW, Rachel Helfand, Director of Program Development & Training for Spring Hills Senior Communities, said “This year’s National Assisted Living Week theme, Keep Connected, fits perfectly with our Signature Trends program through which we aspire to stay in front of the trends with technology in our communities.” Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living utilizes top industry technology programs designed to enhance resident care. These programs allow for increased communication amongst the interdisciplinary team invested in the resident’s wellness. Spring Hills Cherry Hill also creates many activities using and teaching technology to their residents so they continue to thrive and grow as individuals. Helfand continued, “Through Signature Trends, we keep our residents connected to their friends, families and community. Technology offers so many new opportunities to ‘Keep Connected’ and share moments of joy. It’s wonderful to see residents engaging with technology, enjoying online videos or listening to their favorite music with headphones. We believe that incorporating technology in Resident engagement programming offers many new experiences for self-growth and interpersonal connection.”
Alex Markowits, President/CEO of Spring Hills Senior Communities said, “This year’s theme for National Assisted Living Week is very exciting for us at Spring Hills Senior Communities. We work hard to ensure that our Signature Trends program is the top in our industry. The opportunity for us to join with the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), that created National Assisted Living Week, and showcase how we use technology to stay ahead of health care trends for our residents, family and community is valuable and important to help everyone understand the level of care we strive to give.”
Each Spring Hills Assisted Living Community will hold many different activities in honor of National Assisted Living Week. Some communities will incorporate help from the younger generation to really enhance their technological skills. Some highlights from the week will include a music video filming, a Pokemon Go Challenge, a Wii Tournament and virtual reality glasses.
About National Assisted Living Week:
