30 people ages 90 and older, including a woman turning 100 in December, were honored at a Longevity Celebration that benefited the Alzheimer’s Association. Taking place on the Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day of the Year, on Monday, June 20, 2016, the residents were joined by Cherry Hill Council Woman Carolyn Jacobs and Alzheimer’s Association of South Jersey Executive Director, Linda Coppinger. Following the short presentation, the seniors participated in Longevity Games that included the Longest Volley, the Longest Walk and the Longest Distance Throw.
A Roaring 20’s theme, all of the women attending wore a crown and a feather boa while the men were decked out with a fedora hat. Spring Hills residents and staff raised money for the Alzheimer’s Association by selling lemonade and blueberry muffins, staff could purchase the opportunity to wear blue jeans to work on Monday, June 20 and everyone could buy either a paper purple flower or a real violet flower.
