Pets were the center of attention at the eight different PawFest celebrations this October at each Spring Hill Assisted Living Community. All community members were invited to participate in the festivities that included costumed pet parades through the buildings, pictures with dogs, refreshments for all and more. Owners were welcomed to dress up in costumes matching their pets. The events each benefited local animal shelters and guests were asked to bring donations of pet food, blankets, treats and more.
PawFest celebrates the human-pet bond. “At the Spring Hills Assisted Living Communities, pets play a large, important role in their owner’s lives. We love and value our pets who live at Spring Hills,” says Alex Markowits, Spring Hills Assisted Living President/CEO. He continued, “For elderly pet owners, pets are more than just a companion. We were thrilled to celebrate these pets with the community during PawFest.”
Guests were all welcomed to bring their own pets, dressed in costumes, on leashes for the pet parades. Refreshments were served to the dogs and the two-legged attendees after the parade.
