The students from the Kings Christian School guided the senior residents of Spring Hills Cherry Hill Assisted Living in creating Poppy Remembrance Wreaths for Memorial Day on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. While these poppies were made with egg cartons, red paint and other arts and crafts supplies, poppies are known to be a symbol for remembering the fallen of various wars and armed conflicts because, just before they’ve bloomed, the bud hangs its head – heavy with the promise of blossom, seeming to droop in somnolence. The wreaths that the seniors and students made were given to the veterans who reside at Spring Hills.
