Woodbury, NJ (January 31, 2020) – Atrium Post-Acute Care at Woodbury, managed by Spring Hills Senior Communities, has launched a renewed focus on patient rehabilitation and recovery. There are many paths to rehabilitation, and Atrium helps patients find, and more importantly, stay on theirs. Whether they are seeking to reduce pain, regain mobility and strength, resume a cherished activity, or a combination of these and other factors, patients entering rehabilitation programs may have different levels of motivation. Atrium works with these patients to maximize and sustain their momentum through the rehabilitation and recovery process. Atrium’s professionals monitor the patients’ health and activity, work to improve communication with the patients and their families, engage directly, and collaborate with doctors and other relevant professionals.
Patricia Hedeman, Administrator at Atrium Post-Acute Care at Woodbury, explains: “We strive to help our patients live the fullest, most active lives possible. Through open, honest communication and compassionate support, we can help them identify and achieve their goals through their rehabilitation process. This greatly improves their prognoses and delivers the ideal outcome for everyone concerned.”
Joseph Morra, a long-term care patient, when asked what motivates him to go to rehab said, “The therapists. They are unlike any other therapists I have worked with. They go above and beyond to help me and want to get to know me as a person, rather than an injury or diagnosis.” Carmela Turco, a subacute patient, said, “In hopes that I will feel better. The therapists create a fun atmosphere and make me laugh on my worst days.”
When an Atrium patient named Terry was asked about rehab, he said, “I started rehab to help with the pain in my hands and arms. Along with exercise, the therapist uses heat treatments to help relieve the pain. My goal is to work hard so I can get back to being 100% healthy.”
