Hi my name is Delores DeCroce. I became a resident here at Spring Hills Assisted Living in fall of 2019. I met a lot of new people here including staff and participated in a lot of activities. The people here are very nice. It was at one of the activities in early December that I met a gentleman named Donald, who by chance happened to know my uncle Clay. It became a topic of conversation for us. Almost one week later we had a Christmas party here, where we got together and danced a few dances and began to enjoy each other’s company and we became comfortable with each other. As time went on, our relationship grew stronger. As in many relationships, we had our ups and downs, but each time we became stronger with each other and we discussed our weaknesses and our strengths and dealt with them in our own way. As time went on, we spent more and more time with each other and realized we had a lot in common, like good music, long walks and good food. Also, we can start and finish each other’s sentences. Scary!!! It became apparent to us that we were meant to be together. When I fell and had an injury, I was sent to rehab for physical therapy, where he called me every day and said he felt empty without me. It was at this time that we realized how much we loved each other. He proposed marriage to me with a beautiful engagement ring. I cried but said yes to him. With all the help from the staff, it has made it much easier to deal in the midst of the pandemic. Finally, on October 17 th, 2020, we as two separate people will become one at 9:30 in the morning as Donald and Delores Marion. We have been very blessed. Our new journey will begin on this day. So, thank you everyone who have made this happen. -Donald & Delores
