Our facilities strictly adhere to CDC and health department guidelines to ensure safe visits, requiring pre-screening, proper hygiene, and protective protocols for all visitors.

Spring Hills Senior Communities, Poet’s Walk, Spring Hills Memory Care Communities and Spring Hills Managed Facilities are following all CDC and local Department of Health Guidelines for the states they operate in order to facilitate safe visits for families, residents and associates.

We ask that visitors adhere to the all guidelines, including these during their visit:

  • Check-in with reception staff.
  • Pre-screening temperature check is required for all.
  • Avoid touching face, eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Sanitize hands upon entering the facility.

Our community permits residents to receive visitors subject to the resident’s wishes and the protection of the rights and safety of other residents in the Community.

Infection Control | Spring Hills

1. Infection Control and Education for Visitors

All visitors must receive education on infection control practices before entering the community.

Visitors are required to practice proper hand hygiene by washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the community.

Visitors must adhere to respiratory etiquette, such as covering their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

Visitors exhibiting signs of illness, including fever, cough, or respiratory symptoms, should postpone their visit until they are symptom-free.

2. Screening, Personal Protective Equipment, and Other Infectious Protocols for Visitors:

All visitors are subject to a screening process, including temperature checks and completion of a health questionnaire.

Visitors may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face masks, gloves, or gowns, based on the community’s current infection control guidelines.

Visitors must follow all infectious protocols implemented by the community, including but not limited to physical distancing requirements and designated visitation areas.

3. Lengths of Visits:

The duration of visits will be determined based on the community’s visitation schedule and availability.

The community reserves the right to limit the length of visits to ensure equitable access for all residents and their visitors.

Space is available in the lobby/lounge for residents to receive guests in reasonable comfort and privacy.

4. Number of Visitors Allowed:

The maximum number of visitors allowed per resident at any given time will be determined by the community based on the available space and current infection control guidelines.Visitors must adhere to the specified visitor limit and should not exceed the maximum number of visitors allowed.

A resident receiving end of life care may have visitors of his/her choice at any time, as long as visitation is not medically contraindicated. (Note: The resident’s care plan identifies visitor restriction information.)The community will not restrict, limit, or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

The community reserves the right to change the location of a visit if such visit infringes upon the rights of the resident’s roommate or other residents in the community.The resident has the right to deny visitation at any time. If a resident chooses to withdraw consent for visitation by a particular individual, the name of that person and the date of withdrawn consent shall be documented in the resident’s medical record.

5. Designation of Persons Responsible for Staff Adherence to Visitation Policy and Procedures:

The community shall designate specific individuals, such as the community administrator or designated staff members, who will be responsible for ensuring staff adherence to the visitation policy and procedures.

These designated individuals will handle any concerns or issues related to the visitation policy and ensure its effective implementation.

6. Visitors Cannot Be Compelled to Show or Provide Proof of Vaccination or Immunization Status:

The community acknowledges that visitors cannot be compelled to show or provide proof of vaccination or immunization status as a condition for visitation.

7. Consensual Physical Contact Allowed Between a Resident and a Visitor:

Consensual physical contact, such as hugging or holding hands, is allowed between a resident and a visitor, provided it aligns with the resident’s preferences and does not pose a risk to the health and safety of either party.

Visitors must still follow all infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene before and after physical contact.
