“I would like commend a few staff at the rehab for their exceptional attention toward Joe’s needs and for making my family very confident in the care he has received. Raymond, Jason, Jessica, Nikki, Penny and more….. Joe needed this level of attention he got at Spring Hills and it will certainly carry over to his discharge home. Maddie and Madison were exceptional as well. Please have faith that there are caring people in this world. I was nervous about this process in the beginning, but have complete faith in Spring Hills Post Acute Care in Hamilton. They get it done.”

In our industry, working with older individuals who have health concerns and chronic diseases, loss is something our associates, residents, clients, patients and the families we work with are up against daily.

Loss due to an unnecessary, violent act is unimaginable. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost a loved one or child and those who are dealing with the aftermath of the trauma caused by the Uvalde, Texas, Elementary School shooting.

NEVER, EVER allow a family member that is unable to advocate for themselves to be placed in this facility. It appeared, on numerous occasions, that the facility was understaffed. It was, at times, unclean with a heavy odor of urine. Some of the staff seemed uncaring; including being more interested in their phones than their patients. The facility was, however, VERY CAREFUL at obtaining ACCURATE Medicare and Insurance information. Almost as if billing was more important than patient care. We moved our family member, as quickly as we were able, for fear of a very negative outcome. You cannot give 0 stars which is what we would have chosen.

This place is horrible. Although there are some housekeepers (Natalie and Walter) who are beyond great. Otherwise, I wouldn't bring a stray animal here. They leave people in filthy conditions in dirty adult diapers. Leave patients in bathrooms for 30 mins. Ignore calls for help. So completely understaffed. Rude to family members social worker clueless to patients. The rugs are horribly smelly and dirty. They have a staff that rather sit around and do nothing than help keep the facility clean.

My family was horrified with the unprofessional staff, lack of care and services our family member experienced at Summit Hills Rehab in Hamilton, NJ. The room was dirty: filthy/stained carpeting, dusty, broken and chipped furniture, unkept bathroom. The smell of urine permeated throughout the hall areas. Our family member received less than 30 minutes of physical therapy each day. Most often, food was unidentifiable and tasteless. On several occasions we had to ask for water, discovered our family member had slept in her clothes and food trays were not removed until the next meal. Bathing did not occur unless requested. No communication from staff until insurance quota was met and a discharge date given. These issues were taken to the administrator who seemed rushed ("I only have a couple of minutes.") and discounted my complaints. On a positive note, there was one weekend aide, Sarah, who seemed to genuinely care for the patients. Overall, this was a disappointing and stressful experience for our family. I could not in good faith recommend this facility.

This place is horrible. Although there are some outlyers (nayla and PT) I wouldn't bring a stray animal here. They leave people in filthy conditionin dirty adult diapers. Leave patients in bathrooms for 30 mins. Ignore calls for help. So completely understaffed. Rude to family members social worker clueless to patients. Give medications all times of the day and when understaffed not at all. Wounds not cleaned for days. Just disgraceful

I am in this industry and have opportunities to work with many skilled nursing facilities, wanted to take the time to applaud the new ownership. Great clinical advancements, Ability to take patients with high clinical needs and support a fragile population, fabulous dining, clean, and kind attentive staff. Great location, easy access for visitors.

This is absolutely a horrible, uncaring facility. Do not ever send your love one here. My mother was here for a couple of days and the nurses, multiple ones on duty do not respond to anything she needed. I arrived to find my mother covered in soiled linen, dirty tray, and slumped down on her bed. My mother is a small frail woman that came here after her hospital stay to get stronger physically. This facility needs to be secretly shopped by the state to see just how bad it is on the inside. I called multiple times and nobody answered or returned my calls. Terrible, Terrible facility. Unfortunately my mom is back in the hospital from Covid and an infection she picked up while in this facility.

Nurses and most staff are so nice but the service is poor. Some are not willing to facilitate bathroom help so they tell the patients to just go in their diapers. Appalling. This is a rehab facility where they are supposed to be learning these skills. Facilities nowadays are only as good as the aides that are doing so much of the manual work. If they aren’t stellar then neither is the facility.

I spent a nightmarish 8 and 1/2 days there after a full knee replacement I realized they were short staffed but housekeeping was deplorable the food was industrial but I survived that my biggest complaint and the reason I could not get out of there fast enough was the abomination they called pain management the medication my surgeon prescribed was never available yet I was supposed to take it every 6 hours so they had me living on sporadic doses of Tylenol my pain was constant and very detrimental to improving during physical therapy the physical therapist girls were the shining stars of the whole show I found them to be caring and professional and I really enjoyed them otherwise it was a bad experience I would never recommend anyone to go there it was more like a nursing home where people were absolutely pushed aside and neglected.

Nice clean place and friendly staff. Went there for a job. Told me I got the job filled out all the necessary forms, then told me they need to do a background check. Which is fine because I have a clean background. Never heard from them again.

The state needs to step in and shut this dump down! Not only does is smell like feces, because they let people sit in diapers all day, the ac does not work. Patients sit in soiled diapers for hours, literally screaming for help and go ignored. Then they get stuffed with melatonin at night to ‘rest’. The patient advocates do not answer or return calls when begging for help. My mother was lucky to see a single nurse each day, while most of her medical instructions went ignored. If you cannot hire staff, why are you open? Awful awful awful! If you love your loved ones, GET THEM OUT NOW! My mother is back in the hospital because of the neglect at this place.

I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here. My mother had to go here because St Lawrence rehabilitation was completely filled. They treated her horribly. They did not check on her wounds they did not do physical therapy. They left her compression socks on for three days and did not wash her.

Please do not send your loved one here! My mother stayed there for almost a month. her things were stolen, she was left to sit in unchanged diaper for hours because no one would take her the bathroom. They promised a whole discharge plan including Visiting nurse home health aid and PT and OT. they lied and did nothing to refer these services. The prescriptions they wrote did not even match the discharge papers. My mother says she never saw a doctor the whole time she was there. They hardley explained how to give her meds and I had to dress her pack her things and get her out myself. It felt very much like no one cared about her at all. Please do not allow your family to go here.

My mother was there for only one night and it was horrible. She reported that she called out for help many times during and no one came. Her call bell was not plugged in and the electronic controls on the bed did not work because the bed was not plugged in either — theses are things I noted upon my arrival. My mom reported that One of the aides actually threw the call bed at her stomach. My mom had severe abdominal pain and no one answered her calls for help except the person who came to pick up her menu selections from her food tray and she helped her call me the morning after her admission to Spring Hill. I got to Spring Hill as soon as I could after the phone call because my mom was moaning any crying about severe abdominal pain. I walked in the room to see her the morning after transfer to Spring Hills from the hospital and she was sitting on the side of the bed in a soiled diaper ( because no one came in to assist her) wearing no gown or clothing with her breast exposed moaning and said that no one would help her or believed that she was in pain. The director of the rehab , Jason happened to walk into my mom’s room as I arrived to see her. I was enraged and demanded to speak to a nurse. Of course since the director was there I finally got someone to pay attention to my mom. Of course the staff denied everything my mom said. My mom is very with it and has no dementia and would it lie about her complaints. They obviously are staffed by people who are lazy and should not be taking are of patients who really need care. Do not send your loved one here because the staff will not provide the care they especially if they are frail and weak after being in the hospital. Thank goodness when the doctor finally came to examine my mom he ordered 911 to be call to bring her back to the hospital. I will never advise anyone to go to Spring Hill at Hamilton Rehab

This place is unsuitable, the nursing staff is horrible & unprofessional. My mother room was right across from nursing station, never answered call bell in timely fashion to assist her to bathroom during day or at night. I asked for a paper cup for water 40 minutes later no cup & nurse walked away from desk when I return back to desk. Once discharged no assistance with wheelchair or putting my mom in car & I'm using a cane to assist my walk. This place is SORRY & I would not recommend it to a pet let alone your loved one.

Spring Hills provided the highest level of care for my mom during her stay at rehab. The nurses and staff were very attentive and highly skilled. They were on top of her condition and kept us informed of any status changes many times throughout each day, and because of that, she was able to be transported back to the hospital as soon as there was a change. The facility was beautiful and the kitchen was more than willing to prepare special foods for her when she had difficulty eating. I’m so happy that she received the care that she did.

Had a family member here awhile ago. She was giving up hope and the staff kept her smiling. Therapy was good. She can be difficult, but the structured environment and routine made a miraculous turn and she continues to do fine. She told us that she finally met her own heros. We thank you.

A terrible experience for my mother from the first day to the last: 10 days in total (after a five-day hospitalization). The place looks nice, but that is meaningless if your loved one isn't being treated with dignity.I was there each day and I had issues from not dressing her to not cleaning to misplacing items to poor communication to outright negligence. Most of the time the nurses were sitting at their station typing into the computer; no effective communication with me even though I always greeted them as I entered.Sure, when I raised issues, attention was provided, but what about those that don't have someone able to be their advocate? On discharge day (arranged by the on-site social worker the previous day and communicated to me twice), I got there in advance of the transport to find my mother not dressed and no one among the nursing or aid staffs knowing she was being discharged. If you have a loved one there, you must be very vigilant or there will be neglect.Better, don't go there at all!

I share Melinda's review. The management of this facility is singularly focused on finances, and patients are merely a means to the financial end. Patients cry out for help, but the staff is so limited they simply cannot get to these people. Eventually you can see the defeat in the staff, and their attitudes become awful. They complain in front of patients, behave in an exasperated way, and quickly tell you how terrible it is to work there. Our mom was there for several weeks, and we were all STUNNED by the turnover in CNA and nursing. The PT staff is great, and many of the individuals care. But, they are hampered by the management. I could go on & on about how awful it was for our mom & for us, but let me say this for expediency: PLEASE, if you MUST place your loved one there, make sure to stay with them & be prepared to care for them yourself.
